More About the Class: Have you always wanted to master oil painting but felt overwhelmed by the materials and complexity?

This expressive still life class offers an intuitive and accessible path into one of the most rewarding mediums. We focus on developing a versatile approach through the dynamic Alla Prima technique, proving that you don't need a huge budget or years of practice to create stunning work.

Students will build core skills laying a firm foundation in the essential elements of painting: color mixing, value relationships, and expressive brushwork. Equipped with a minimal materials list and simplified methods we will deliver maximum impact designed to make oil painting feel effortless.

We will encourage you to use an artist’s mindset and move beyond copying! The goal is to provide you with powerful, effective techniques and fundamental knowledge that will empower your own unique creative voice in any future project.

Join us and transform how you see and paint the world.

* Respiratory Sensitivities (Asthma, COPD, etc): Please note that oil paint techniques require the use of low-vapor mineral spirits. We mitigate their effect using fans and air purifiers in the classroom. Those with respiratory sensitivities are asked to contact us in advance to discuss any concerns. 706-722-5495 or twilber@ghia.org
