View contemporary artwork displayed in a historic home. We host gallery receptions, artist talks, and fundraising events in Ware’s Folly, an architectural gem of downtown Augusta that was built in 1818. We also program art classes for youth & adults in our art education studio on campus.
Free Admission during regular gallery hours - Monday-Friday 10am-5pm.

Art Classes
Light your creative spark with art classes for both youth and adults at GHIA! Classes are held in the Walker-Mackenzie studio at the rear of our campus. Classes cater to ages 5 and up, and class sizes are kept small so you receive focused instruction. All skill levels welcome!

HISTORY
The Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art was founded in 1937 by Olivia Herbert. It is housed in two historic buildings on our campus at 506 Telfair Street in downtown Augusta, Georgia.
OUTREACH
GHIA funds an artist-in-residence who instructs children at a public school in Richmond County that does not have funds for their own art instructor.
