Student Experience Ambassador (SEA)

The Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art seeks to fill a part-time position of Student Experience Ambassador. This position is designed for those who wish to remain deeply connected to the arts and contribute to the growth of our creative community.

SEA's greet students as they enter the art studio for class, tidy classrooms, organize supplies and attend to instructor needs during class. Most hours are in the evenings and on Saturdays, with weekday hours during GHIA Summer Camps (June 2027).

Part Time, $10/hr. Weekday Evenings and at least 1 Saturday a month, 3-10 hrs a week.

Primary Tasks:

  • Act as the representative of GHIA during evening & weekend classes, and other activities.

  • Be present at minimum 30 minutes before the start of a class or event.

  • Greet attendees as they enter the building, ensuring only registered students and/or event attendees are allowed entry.

  • Complete light organizational & cleaning tasks set by Education Director.

  • Take photos & video of classes in session to be used on the GHIA social media channels (camera provided by GHIA).

  • Communicate any issues that arise during shift to the GHIA Education Director.

  • Secure the building at the conclusion of the day’s classes and activities.

  • Respond to emergencies and incidents following GHIA’s response guidelines.

Scheduling: The schedule is built around our class offerings, which are variable week-to-week. Your availability will be taken into consideration and SEA schedules will be communicated clearly. All SEAs are asked to be available for at least one Saturday shift per month. Any changes to the schedule require communication at least 48 hours in advance.
