Call for Artists: Echoes of Service
ECHOES OF SERVICE PARTICIPANTS 2025: Jorge Limonta (veteran) and Alex Foltz (artist)
DEADLINE TO APPLY: June 15 at 5pm.
Are you looking to make a profound local impact as an artist? We’re seeking 10 artists to join “Echoes of Service”; a powerful project honoring military veterans in the Augusta River Region.
In partnership with the Augusta VA Medical Center, GHIA will pair artists with veterans to transform their unique experiences of military service into compelling works of art. Work will be exhibited in the VA throughout November 2026.
Participating artists will meet with veterans, talk with them about symbolism and color choices in art to tell a story, and listen to their personal recollections of service. Through this, they’ll gain a deeper understanding of the issues that impact our community’s veterans and use their skills to bring the stories shared to light in a meaningful way. Artists will use their skills for social good while honoring those who have served in the US Military. We hope that it will be a deeply rewarding and personal experience for artists as well as the veterans who participate.
Artists must apply by emailing GHIA Education Coordinator Terry Wilber with information listed in the full artist document linked at the button below. Download to view important dates, selection information and application requirements. Selected artists will be notified by June 20, 2026.
