Weaving in the Round

1 Saturday, May 2, 12-3pm

More about this class: Don’t just buy something to hang on your wall, weave it from scratch. We will be turning "trash" into high-end textile art by ditching the traditional loom and using a hula hoop to create massive, one-of-a-kind circular weaves. You’ll start by raiding our stash of repurposed fabrics guided by tips on color and texture and learn the incredibly satisfying art of ripping them into custom ribbons. From there, you’ll wind your strips into balls and be guided through the "weaving in the round" technique by a skilled instructor to build a textured masterpiece that fits your vibe. It’s all about the upcycle in this class! The piece you create can be used as a bold wall hanging, finished into a 3D pillow, or even a custom boho bag.
