4 Weeks, Mon & Wed, Nov. 3 - 26, 6-8pm

This expressive oil painting class focuses on developing a versatile and intuitive approach to painting via Alla Prima techniques. We'll explore simplified methods and a minimal materials list to make oil painting easy and accessible.

The methods we cover will help build a solid foundation in color mixing, value relationships, and expressive mark-making, and achieve a wide range of colors with a very limited paint palette. The goal of this class is not a paint-along, rather an introduction to the fundamentals of painting that will allow students to utilize effective techniques in their own creative projects.

Skill Level: All Skill Levels

Instructor: Alex Foltz

SUPPLIES: All supplies are included in the tuition

* Respiratory Sensitivities (Asthma, COPD, etc): Please note that oil paint techniques require the use of low-vapor mineral spirits. We mitigate their effect using fans and air purifiers in the classroom.
