NOTE: Classes are held every other week

Hey future artists and storytellers! Ever dreamed of bringing your wildest ideas to life on paper? Join Jacob Boland for an adventure into the world of comic art!

In this series, students will learn how to craft stories in unique ways. We’ll think outside the box and discover how to express inventive stories through sequential art. Jacob will guide students using narrative, and even autobiographical elements to make comics that are personal and powerful.

Techniques will include collage, ink wash, and even designing a one-of-a-kind comic book from scratch.

Each session covers an element of comic book creation:

  • Panel Layout & Narrative Flow: Make your story pop and guide your reader's eye!

  • Outlining & Thumbnail Sketches: Get those ideas down fast and figure out your comic's blueprint.

  • Composition & Blocking: Arrange your art like a pro for maximum impact.

  • Ink & Coloring: Bring your characters and worlds to vibrant life!

The best part? All the amazing artwork created each week will go home in a cool portfolio!
