No Longer Strangers
On view at the Jessye Norman School of the Arts March 10-16
The Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art, in partnership with Greater Augusta Arts Council, provided a neutral space to allow for self examination, group collaboration, and the building of camaraderie between the 9 artists who are no longer strangers. In a world sometimes skewed towards division, art can bring us together.
ABOUT THE EXHIBIT
An ambitious group of artists focused on community aim to enrich the vibrancy of our local art scene. Compelled to create, these 9 artists crave the sanctuary of their creative spaces and seek understanding through their work.
Their collective motives add up to one universal virtue of growth – both creatively and professionally. Nurtured through collaboration with our local resources, the artists have experienced a six week retreat of learning and excavating their most authentic selves.
The show will be on display at the Ann & Ellis Johnson Gallery of Art at the Jesse Norman School of the Arts (located at 739 Greene Street, Augusta, GA 30901) starting March 10th, with a reception with the artists on March 16th from 6-8pm.
