Use discarded books & other art supplies to create visual journals that double as mixed media treasures.

Skill Level: All Skill Levels Welcome, Ages 13-17

Instructor: Gail Peake

SUPPLIES: Students need to bring a discarded book and found objects they may want to include in their design.

More about the class: Ever looked at a dusty old book and seen a canvas instead of a story? Join me for a hands-on workshop where we break the rules of "standard" art and rediscover the pure joy of making. We’re turning ordinary books into extraordinary personal treasures, using everything from vibrant paints and layered collage to tactile textures that pop off the page.

This experience is all about the thrill of experimentation and the magic of "happy accidents." In our studio space, we quiet the inner critic and let creativity run wild with no boundaries and no "right" way to do things. Whether you want to create a soulful family keepsake, a tribute to a special memory, or a visual journal of your own imagination, you’ll find that the possibilities are truly endless.

Whether you’re a lifelong artist or haven’t picked up a brush since grade school, there is a seat at the table for you. Come get your hands a little messy, explore a world of mixed media, and leave with a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that is uniquely yours.
