Visiting the GHIA campus in downtown Augusta, GA? Whether you’re taking an art class or viewing the art galleries, here’s what you’ll need to know.

The GHIA campus is located at the intersection of Telfair St. and 5th St. in downtown Augusta, GA.

Two Historic Buildings
Our gallery spaces and admin offices are housed in the Ware’s Folly Building, which faces Telfair St. (top image). You can enter at the floor level at the door between the set of curved stairs. Ring the doorbell and staff will greet you.
The majority of art classes, camps and workshops are held in the Walker Mackenzie Art Education Studio, at the rear of campus (bottom image). The front door faces 5th. St. Make sure to check your class email, some workshops are held in Ware’s Folly!

Our campus has a gravel parking lot that can be accessed via 5th st. Space is limited. Public parking is available in front of our campus on Telfair St. and at the Augusta Municipal Building (address 535 Telfair St.)

We are open to the public during the week for visits to the gallery and to tour the Ware’s Folly Building. Call ahead - 706-722-5495

Please note: We occasionally close to the public to prepare for gallery shows and events. Please call ahead of your visit - 706-722-5495. We are closed on Federal holidays. We also close the last half of December, and during Master’s Week (First full week in April).

Our gallery exhibits & events take place in the Ware’s Folly building on campus most often. The Main Gallery & event space is located on the 2nd floor with stair entry from the exterior or interior of the building. There is a third floor with additional gallery space. There is no elevator access to any space in Ware’s Folly due to its historic nature, this building is not considered ADA Accessible.

Art Classes and youth summer camps take place in the Walker Mackenzie Art Education Studio on the GHIA campus. This building is 2 stories, both of which are accessible by elevator. The front and back entrances each have a small set of steps to get to the doors, and our elevator is external. Please call ahead and we can provide further information on utilizing the elevator. 706-722-5495
