Emily Bender
Fiber Arts & Painting/Mural Art
Emily Bender is a multidisciplinary artist focusing primarily on painting and fiber arts. She grew up on a northern Indiana sheep farm prior to moving to Augusta, and started learning fiber art with the women in her family at a very young age. She often blends both painting skills and fiber in her fine art pieces, and likes to explore new techniques.
She is the Artist in Residence with Westobou and GHIA for 2026 and will have a gallery exhibit showing her work at Westobou in February 2027.
“I think that sewing is a life skill that everyone can and should develop. Having this skill is both practical and inventive, allowing one to save money and express creativity.”
