About the Juror : Tori Beth Bell

Each year a member of the local arts community is asked to jury the Agnes Markwalter Youth Competition.

The 2024 juror, Tori Beth Bell is the Education Programs Manager at the Morris Museum of Art, and an adjunct art history professor. She has a Bachelor and Masters of Fine Art and teaches studio art in a wide range of mediums including, drawing, photography, painting, and digital illustration.


The Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art, in collaboration with the Markwalter Family, is pleased to announce the 2024 Agnes Markwalter Youth Art Competition

Held in conjunction with National Youth Art Month, the Agnes Markwalter Youth Art Competition and Exhibition seeks to promote the value of art education for all children and to encourage support for quality school art programs throughout the CSRA. 

The 2024 competition showcased work inspired by the theme DREAM IN ART, created by K-12 students from public, private, and home schools in Aiken, Burke, Columbia, McDuffie, and Richmond Counties.

This exhibition is generously sponsored by the Markwalter family.

Divisional entries from each school on view in the student galleries at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art from March 6 through the 21st, 2024.
