Business of Being an Artist Exhibition featuing artwork by Lea Rigdon and Leslie Hamrick.

Artists participating in The Business of Being an Artist, display their work as a final project after learning what it takes to be a professional artist. The course was offered through the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art in partnership with the Greater Augusta Arts Council and was taught by local artist Staci Swider. It covered many different topics such as artist statements, submitting work, prepping work, photographing work, marketing, and more and included local guest artists and community representatives to share their real-world experience and knowledge.

This program is supported in part by Georgia Council for the Arts through the appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly. Georgia Council for the Arts also receives support from its partner agency - The National Endowment for the Arts.
