43rd Annual Agnes Markwalter Youth Art Competition

The Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art, in collaboration with the Markwalter Family, is pleased to announce the 2022 Agnes Markwalter Youth Art Competition and Exhibition. Held in conjunction with National Youth Art Month, the Institute’s 43rd Annual Agnes Markwalter Youth Art Competition and Exhibition seeks to promote the value of art education for all children and to encourage support for quality school art programs throughout the CSRA. The 2022 competition will showcase work inspired by the theme “Art Connects Us”, created by K-12 students from public, private, and home schools in Aiken, Burke, Columbia, McDuffie, and Richmond Counties. This exhibition is generously sponsored by the Markwalter family.

Divisional entries from each school will be on exhibit in the student galleries at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art, 506 Telfair Street, from March 9- March 30, 2022.

A reception and awards presentation will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art. Awards will be presented at 5:00 p.m.
