THE BUSINESS OF BEING AN ARTIST

This year's cohort of artists will display their work at a reception held Friday, November 3 6-8pm at the Westobou Micro Gallery at 1129 Broad St. Augusta, GA. Please make plans to attend to support their hard work!

Class Info: Learn what it takes to be an exhibiting artist. This class will go over many different topics such as artist statements, submitting work, prepping work, photographing work, framing work, marketing, and more.

Many local guest artists and community representatives will frequent this class to share their real-world experience and knowledge. In partnership with The Greater Augusta Arts Council, the main meeting site for this class will be at The Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art but there will be a few dates meeting off site.

As a final project, students will put on their own group art exhibition and reception on Friday, Nov 3 from 6pm-8pm at Westobou's Micro Gallery. Come join the fun and get ready to show your art!

*Students must bring 3-5 works they wish to exhibit in the final group show for a portfolio review the first night of class

This program is supported in part by Georgia Council for the Arts through the appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly. Georgia Council for the Arts also receives support from its partner agency - The National Endowment for the Arts.
