Instructor: Will D. Tullis This class is designed to teach students essential functions while using a digital SLR camera. Instruction will include, shutter speeds, controlling motion, exposure control, and menu items such as resolution, file types, ISO and white balance. Instruction will also include an introduction to downloading, sizing and e-mailing images, basic image editing using Photoshop and taking better pictures using great composition techniques. This class is geared toward our Photoshop beginners. In this class students will learn what all the Photoshop tools are, what they do, where they are located; what all the tabs are, where they’re located, and what they do. You will also learn to use layers, layer masks, selection tools, paint tools, clone tools and the retouching tools. We will also cover how to use Adobe Camera RAW, how to process your RAW files and save them as Photoshop or JPEG files depending on their use. This independent study is for the more advanced ceramic student only. Students will be able to work at their own pace with their own objectives and goals in mind. Ceramic firing time will be available at a once a week schedule. Students are welcomed to use glazes and tools on hand. One bag of clay will be provided at the beginning of the session. Additional clay is available for $20 a bag if needed. Outside clay is prohibited unless otherwise specified. Size restrictions are in place. No individual pieces over 12" x 12" are allowed at this time. Students must bring a clean towel each week and maintain a clean work area. Each class will include theory, demonstration, and individual hands-on instruction. All basic supplies, including the M.I.G. Welders Manual by Roger Finch and the Victor Welding Guide are included in the materials fee and supplied on Class #1. No prerequisite is required for this class.
