Instructor: Lillie Morris Learn how to create your own collage material using a variety of acrylic painting techniques. Make your own unique collage papers with paint, patterns, textures and expressive marks, to create simple, but dynamic collages. Let your creativity run wild, as we will explore abstract composition, play, make a mess, and have a whole lot of fun in the process. This one day workshop includes a break for lunch. The first half of the day will be spent demonstrating a variety of techniques for creating unique one-of-a-kind collage papers. Students will explore ceramic wheelwork techniques in this class. Instruction will be tailored to the individual skill level of each student. Using the wheel as a tool, forms will be thrown, altered and assembled to create various functional vessels of various shapes and forms. Glazing techniques will also be addressed. Summer takes full bloom in this class. Learn to paint vibrant spring floral arrangements. Students will set up their own floral still life and then through a series of mini-demos by the instructor students will gain proficiency in painting flowers, leaves, and stems. Curriculum will focus on composition, lighting, value, color, and texture. Professional watercolor techniques including washes, layering of color, and the use of masking will be demonstrated.
